NEW DELHI: Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj ripped apart Sri Lanka top order with four wickets in an over during the Asia Cup final on Sunday in Colombo.
The right-arm Siraj first struck to dismiss Pathum Nissanka on the first delivery of his second over. Ravindra Jajeda grabbed a stunner as he dived to his right and took it low with both hands.
Siraj then trapped Sadeera Samarawickrama in front for his second wicket in the over followed by Charith Asalanka who was caught by Ishan Kishan at covers that left him on a hat-trick.

However, Dhananjaya de Silva denied Siraj a hat-trick and pushed it through the vacant mid-on region that went for four.
Siraj, charged with adrenaline, joined Kishan in the chase, narrowly outpaced him but couldn’t prevent the ball from reaching the boundary. In the slip position, Virat Kohli can’t contain his laughter.

Siraj might have not ended up with a hat-trick but he finished the over with the dismissal of de Silva to leave Sri Lanka tottering at 12/5 in 4 overs.
He went on to complete his first five-wicket haul in ODIs with the scalp of Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka.
