NEW DELHI: Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district have entered the fifth day of their operation to root out terrorists from the Gadole forest area. Their unwavering determination is evident as they escalate their efforts to neutralize those responsible for recent attacks.
Mortar Shells Target Hideouts:
Sunday morning saw a renewed assault with several mortar shells fired towards the forest, targeting identified cave-like hideouts. Drone footage captured a terrorist attempting to evade capture after a hideout was struck by shells on Friday.

High-Tech Pursuit:
Utilizing advanced technology, including drones and helicopters, security forces surveil the dense forest where terrorists are believed to be hiding. Precision fire tactics are employed to minimize collateral damage.
Expanding Security Measures:
To safeguard civilian areas from potential infiltration, the security cordon has been extended to neighboring Posh Kreeri area.
As the operation continues, the police express confidence that two to three terrorists are trapped in the forested area. Additional Director General of Police (Kashmir) Vijay Kumar reaffirms the operation’s credibility and determination to eliminate those responsible.
Remembering Wednesday’s Tragedy:
A deadly firefight which started on Wednesday resulted in the tragic loss of two Army officers and a deputy superintendent of police. Since then, security forces have been on high alert.
