NEW DELHI: Air India’s Bengaluru-San Francisco (SFO) nonstop was diverted to Anchorage following a reported snag. The Boeing 777 (VT-AEF), the first of ex-Delta planes that have joined AI fleet, then flew to its destination from Anchorage. Comments from AI have been sought and are awaited.
Flight tracking sites show AI 175 had taken off from Bengaluru at 1.25 pm on Sunday.
On exiting Chinese mainland from Shanghai side to begin its long oceanic journey, the B777 made a few manoeuvres and then proceeded further.
The aircraft diverted to Anchorage and landed there safely at 2.20 pm Sunday (all timings local). The B777 took off from Anchorage two hours later, at 4.18 pm, for its destination where it landed at 9.21 pm Sunday.
This June, AI’s Delhi-San Francisco had diverted to Russia after an engine snag.
