LUCKNOW: A 30-year-old man was found murdered in Union minister of housing and urban affairs Kaushal Kishore‘s house in Lucknow’s Thakurganj early Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Vinay Srivastava, a BJP worker.
Deputy commissioner of police, west zone, Rahul Raj, said that Srivastava was shot in the head.
“The victim is said to be a friend of minister’s son Ashu alias Vikas,” said Raj.
According to a preliminary probe, Ashu’s licensed pistol was used in the crime. Cops have seized the firearm.
“An FIR under the charges of IPC 302 (murder) is being registered,” he said.
The victim was attending a party organised by Ashu’s friends at the latter’s house and in the wee hours of Friday he was shot following which the Union minister called the cops.
A police team along with a forensic examination unit reached the spot and found Vinay’s body. The body was later sent for post-mortem examination.
Kishore told police that his son had gone to Delhi last night to look after his wife Jaya Devi who was admitted to a hospital there.
