NEW DELHI: Gen-Next stars Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma are on their first ever national assignment in Ireland and the duo on Thursday expressed their thrill and excitement after making it to the top tier in Indian cricket.

In a video posted by the BCCI, Rinku and Jitesh, in a free-wheeling chat, shared the moments of their maiden India call-ups and said they hope to do well, if given a chance.
India begin their three-match T20I series against Ireland starting Friday.

“It was a really nice first session with the Indian cricket team. If I get a chance, I will give my 100 percent and help India win matches,” Rinku said.

In the video, Rinku also recalled the moment when he came to know about his India selection.
“I was in Noida, where I practiced. I was with friends when the team was announced. It felt really good when I saw my name in the squad. Then I called my mother. She used to say you have to play for India. So her dream came true and so did mine”.
“It is a dream of every player to represent India. When I saw my India jersey, it was a great feeling. I got emotional,” Rinku added.
Jitesh Sharma also shared his excitement of travelling with the Indian team.
“Feels really good to travel with the Indian team, wearing the team kit and going abroad. It is a big opportunity to express myself,” Jitesh said.
The three T20Is will be played in Dublin on August 18, 20 and 23 respectively.
