Chesapeake Energy Leaves Eagle Ford, Sees Possible Lift from LNG

August 15, 2023–Researched by Daniel Graeber for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)–A few short years after declaring bankruptcy, Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NASDAQ:CHK) (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) said it has exited the Eagle Ford Shale, netting more than $3.5 billion for its acreage.

SilverBow Resources (NYSE:SBOW) (Houston, Texas) came forward with $700 million for Chesapeake’s remaining 42,000 net acres in the Texas oil and gas basin. For SilverBow, the acreage could lift production to nearly 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
