Thar Electric
The manufacturer teased the all-electric iteration of Thar, named ‘Thar.e’ last month. The SUV can be expected to get a host of features that will make it a more capable off-roader.
While there’s little known about the EV, which will debut as a concept, it is likely to get a dual motor setup, mounted one each on the front and the rear axle to deliver the 4WD/AWD performance. Furthermore, to fit in the large battery pack, the OEM might use the repurposed platform of the ICE Thar.
In terms of design too, the Thar electric is likely to feature a host of cosmetic upgrades, albeit while maintaining the overall design language. In the released teaser, squarish LED lamps can be seen with rounded-off borders.

Global PikUp Vision
The Global PikUp Vision is a new concept from Mahindra that previews the company’s future plans for its pickup truck range. Likely to be based on the platform of its sibling, the ScorpioN, this upcoming truck will rival the likes of Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross upon its launch.
The unveiling of the all-electric Thar is a significant move by Mahindra as it looks to expand its electric vehicle portfolio and become a global player in the electric vehicle market. In 2021, the company had committed to investing Rs 3,000 crore in its electric vehicle business by 2024.
In addition to the all-electric Thar and the Global PikUp Vision, Mahindra is also expected to unveil a number of other new products at the Futurescape event, including the Oja platform for its future tractors, along with seven new tractors models set to be showcased tomorrow.
